Quick Share links allow Nacsport users to share tagging windows, analyses and presentations quickly and easily through a generated link. Using this link, the recipient can download the shared content directly from the server.

So, let’s take a closer look at this supremely useful tool that is launched with Nacsport 9.0…

Note: In order to update to Nacsport 9.0 and use Quick Share links, you must have your Support and Update Service (SUS) up to date. If this is not the case, get in contact with our sales team who will talk you through the process.

What Can Be Shared with this Tool?

As we said in the first paragraph, you can share tagging windows, analysis data and presentations.

However, it’s important to note that, in the case of analyses and presentation, it’s the data that’s shared, not the video.

The recipient must have the same video file in order to use the data that is being sent.

Compatible Between Windows and macOS

One of the huge advantages of using Quick Share links is that files can be shared directly between Windows and Mac.

Want to send a tagging window made on Windows and open it on a Mac? No worries. A Mac presentation open on Windows? Easy.

Just pass the link.

Generating Links Vs Opening Links

This feature is reserved for our professional range of software.

Quick Share links can be generated and opened in both Nacsport Pro and Elite.

If you use Nacsport Scout, you can open Quick Share links that have been sent to you, although you won’t be able to create them.

Each link is unique and contains the file you want to share at that particular moment. If a tagging window, analysis, or presentation is subsequently updated, a new link must be generated.

Ok, let’s look at how to generate links and download files using them. You can also watch the following video for more information about this process.

Quick Share for Tagging Windows

How to Create a Link

To create a tagging window link, first open the one you want to share. Now from the options menu in the control window, choose the option Create Quick Share.

Generate Quick Share Tagging Windows

The window that opens allows you to customise your link. The options we’re looking at here are the same when creating a link for an analysis or presentation.

The following options will be available:

  • One Time Use. Only one person will be able to open the link. After being used once, the link will cease to function.

  • Days Limit. When this option has been checked, you must select the expiration date of the link. The maximum is 30 days.

  • Password Protection. Password protect your analysis material with this option. Simply set your password.

Configure Quick Share Links

Click Create Link and it will appear in the last box.

Nacsport automatically copies the link to the clipboard so you can paste wherever you need to.

How to Download Via Quick Share

To download a tagging window from a Quick Share link, go to options in the main Nacsport menu and select File followed by Download Via Quick Share.

Paste the link in the window that opens and the tagging window will be downloaded.

Quick Share for Analyses

How to Create a Link

To create a Quick Share link for an analysis, first go to the View Analysis environment. Choose the analysis or analyses you want to share and then click the Quick Share icon in the toolbar.

Select Create Quick Share and, from here on, the process is the same as for tagging windows.

Windows users can share multiple analyses at the same time with a single Quick Share link while Mac users can only share a single analysis. This means that if you want to share multiple analyses on Mac, a separate link must be generated for each one.

Quick Share Analysis

How to Download Via Quick Share

An analysis shared via Quick Share can be downloaded in the same place where they are created. In the View Analysis environment, click the Quick Share icon and this time select Download Via Quick Share.

The analysis will be downloaded to the folder that is currently open within the View Analysis environment, so it’s a good idea to select the folder you want before downloading.

Lastly, remember that the download does not include the video, so the recipient must have the same video in order to take advantage of the downloaded analysis.

Quick Share for Presentations

How to Create a Link

In the presentations environment, click the Quick Share icon in the toolbar.

When quick sharing a presentation, there are several options for customising the content that you want to share. You can choose to share the currently selected clips, selected lists or the entire presentation.

When sharing only selected clips, remember to select them first. The rest of the process for creating the link is identical to those covered above.

Quick Share Presentations

How to Download Via Quick Share

To download a presentation via Quick Share, you must first open a new presentation from the timeline. Now click the quick share icon and choose Download Via Quick Share.

A new window opens which allows you to choose the parameters you want to include in the downloaded presentation. Click Save and the presentation will be imported.

Again, the video will not be shared. The recipient must have the video file on their computer in order to give context to the downloaded data.

Location of Downloaded Files

When downloading via Quick Share, files will be saved by default in their corresponding Nacsport folder, unless you have chosen otherwise.

Tagging windows will be stored in the Categories folder, analyses in the My Analysis folder, and presentations in the Presentations folder. All of these can be found at Documents/NAC SPORT DATA.

Important: Download Links in Corresponding Environment

So, as you can see, this tool will revolutionise your collaborative work and the way you share from Nacsport. With just a couple of clicks, you can share data with colleagues quickly and comfortably, making the process much more efficient.

Lastly, we must remind you that Quick Share links must be opened in the same environment they are generated. Opening an analysis via Quick Share must be done in the View Analysis environment, for example. If this is not the case, you will receive an error message.
