4 minute readThe Nacsport timeline is a world onto itself, full of options and possibilities. For example, did you know that you can chart how often actions occur at certain periods in a match?
Well, you can.
Whether you’re an experienced user or a novice it's likely that, by delving deeper into the software, you'll find options that you didn't know existed and, after using them, you'll wonder how you ever got by without them!
We’ve noticed that this is often the case with the tool we’re talking about in today’s, Category Frequency Charts, which is available in Nacsport Elite.
As you may know, we like to keep in constant contact with you, the user, to understand your needs and work on solutions to meet those needs.
And so it was…a few users let us know that they wanted a tool that could show, in a visual manner, how often a category occurs and how it interacts with others.
So, we got our heads down to work and, in Nacsport v.4.1.0, released in 2019, we made this very tool available to Elite users.
Let's get down to business…
It is a fairly simple feature to both understand and apply. Basically, it allows you to see, on the Timeline, how often one or more actions happen.
In addition, you can customize the interval to be analyzed. For example, if we apply this to soccer, you can narrow the data down to show only the time between your team going a goal down and scoring to tie the game.
By doing this, you can see exactly what your team were doing successfully during this time. Were there more crosses into the center of the area? Did they take advantage of dead ball situations? Which players had the majority of possession?
It’s very easy.
Activate the tool on your timeline and select the categories in whose frequency you are interested. Then, with one click you can see a graph which shows how many times these categories have repeated and how they interact with each other.
See? Simple.
But there's more…
This tool also serves as a filter or action finder. By clicking on any peak of the graph you will be able to see a list of actions which you can be watched instantly in the video player.
Moreover, these graphs can also be exported as jpegs, meaning you can include the graph in a report or even share the image in real-time with the bench.
Sounds good, right?
Several analysts have confessed to us that they haven’t spent much time with Category Frequency Charts. “The program has so many tools that I miss things!”, they say.
And we totally understand this.
Because Nacsport is so complete, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and overlook something. And that’s why we produce these articles. We want you to get the most out of the software and keep adding to your analysis toolset, especially with something as useful as this!
As always, if you still have doubts after reading this article, don’t worry, we’re always at your disposal. Contact us by email or through our social media channels, if we can’t help you directly, we’ll find someone who can!
