You may have noticed the occasional pic on our social media channels, of analysts working with a tablet, tagging games from pitchside. They’re using the Nacsport Tag&view app - for iPad and iPhone - to register their analysis.

It’s taken a while to build its following, but Tag&view has been one of our most successful products of 2019, with more and more professionals opting for the agile approach and choosing to work from their tablet or phone.

We’re also receiving more and more emails every week, asking us about Tag&view, how it fits into the Nacsport platform and what it can be used for. So we decided to group together some of the most frequently asked questions we receive and answer them all on this page.

1. What is Nacsport Tag&view?

It’s a mobile app developed for the iOs operating system which you can use to register and analyze data autonomously and, if you want, send that data to your Nacsport powered computer, to continue working with it and take your analysis deeper.

2. Can I run it on another OS (Android, Windows…)?

Nacsport Tag&view is an app developed exclusively for iOs, that means it will only run on Apple mobile devices (iPad or iPhone).

3. Do I need to have Nacsport to use Tag&view?

Not necessarily. However, we recommend running Tag&view alongside Nacsport, as the two tools are complementary. You’ll be able to work more efficiently feeding your data into Nacsport and using it from there. But you can easily run Tag&view as a standalone product.

4. Can I use my Nacsport licence on Tag&view?

They are two different products, so they require individual licences.

5. Is it hard to learn?

Not at all. Tag&view is an intuitive and easy to handle app. If you’re a Nacsport user the interface will already be familiar to you. We also provide a complete user manual to get you started and you’ll have our legendary support service on hand to answer all your questions.

6. Where can I download the app?

You can download Tag&view easily in the Apple App Store.

7. Can I work with my Nacsport button template on Tag&view?

Yes. In fact we recommend it. If you use Nacsport, for ease familiarity, we suggest exporting your favourite button templates from Nacsport into Tag&view.

(We’ve also included a handy option in the Nacsport dashboard to automatically adjust templates for an iPad screen - and templates are very easy to modify from within the app).

8. Can I connect a PC to my iPad and use both to register in the same database during a game?

Yes you can. Both devices have to be connected to the same network and you’ll need to ‘activate’ a connection between them.

Important note: to avoid any possible problem connecting devices, we recommend disabling your firewall temporarily.

9. With Tag&view can I capture images while registering?

Yes, this is one of the key features of Tag&view. You have 2 options: (1) Capture video to export with your registers to Nacsport later and (2) capture images while registering, allowing you to observe any moment of the game on your iPad, or export it to Nacsport.

10. Can I stream my work?

Yes, but unlike video capture, where you can select the quality of your recording, streaming with Tag&view will always be in 720p.

11. During a game, can I see the Tag&view actions registering on the main PC?

Yes. If you’re connected to the same network. On Tag&view you can see all the registers (and its videos) that are being made on a PC if you’re connected.

12. Can I capture video from an IP Camera?

Yes, you can. However, the video won’t be saved on your device.

13. Do I have to stop the capture to view a register?

No, with Tag&view you can see all the registers you’ve made, without having to stop your capture.

14. Can I produce video directly from Tag&view?

No, with Tag&view you can see your registers, but to produce video you must have a Nacsport desktop licence.

15. Can I add drawings to the registers?

Yes. You can even filter your registers to see only those with drawings post match. Drawing was one of the new features included in Tag&view for 2019, as this post describes.

16. Can I export the register I make with Tag&view?

Yes, this is another key feature of the app. You can simply tag a game using your iPhone or iPad, then synchronize it later on a computer. All data can be exported in XML format and easily imported into Nacsport.

17. Can I try it before purchasing it?

Yes, you can download a free version of the software, although some of the features are limited. For example, our free version has no live streaming or capture, cannot be used in real-time and does not allow the import of Nacsport button templates.

18. How much does it cost?

Cost varies depending on any other Nacsport products you use. As always, for the guaranteed lowest price - and details of any discount you may be eligible for - contact our commercial department.

19. How can I get a Tag&view licence?

You must contact us by email (sales@nacsport.com), we’ll tell you how to make the payment and send you the licence.

20. Didn’t you used to have an app called Tag&go. Is this the same product? If not, what are the differences?

Tag&go is the former version of what we now call Tag&view. It’s a tool that no longer exists. Tag&view is the updated version. New name, heaps of new features.
