So, you’re interested in video analysis, right? You’re wondering what exactly Nacsport is? Well, we’ve got the answers for you…

Nacsport produces a range of sports analysis tools used by coaches, clubs and analysts all over the world to improve sports performance.

Nacsport users can analyse athletes, teams and opponents using a large suite of analysis tools which give them the power to analyse, strategise and win.

These tools have been developed by the company New Assistant Coach Sport SL, which is based in Spain, but operates internationally, with teams in the United States and France and a network of distributors worldwide.

At the moment, the software is used by more than 10,000 customers in over 60 countries in a multitude of sports.

So, let’s take a closer look…

How Does Nacsport Work?

Before answering this question, it’s important to realise that Nacsport is not a single product, but rather a range of products which are available for both Windows and macOS. There are five main software programs and a handful of complementary tools that all focus on specific areas of sports analysis.

.

Here, we’ll focus on the five main products, which offer video analysis software for all different levels and budgets. These are, from starter to flagship, Basic, Basic+, Scout, Pro and Elite

How are they different? Well, they’re essentially the same product, but the higher versions have many more tools available and allow you to do much more, faster and better (see comparison here). Obviously, the price also increases the higher you go too. These five tools are intended for different types of users, from beginners to professional analysts.

The Nacsport workflow can be, basically speaking, split into three stages: data collection, data analysis, and presenting insights.

Stage 1: Data Collection

The workflow begins with collecting game video and data. The video can either be filmed by you or obtained from another source, such as a TV broadcast or an online platform. Likewise, the data can be collected by you, by tagging the game video, or imported from 3rd-party sports data providers.

To collect game data, you create a tagging window, a series of buttons which relate to different parts of the game, such as goals, shots, passes, players, area of the field, etc.

As you watch the video, you click these buttons when you see them happening during the game. This tags the video, creating a series of short clips plus related data that can be accessed for detailed analysis in the next stage of the process.

Stage 2: Data Analysis

In the second stage of the workflow, you filter and work with the data and video you have collected. You can select key moments, create reports, draw on videos, compare actions, create a graphical dashboard, and many other things.

If you are using an external data provider, you can actually skip the first stage and go straight to this one. You can also combine external data with that you have collected yourself for a truly unique analysis and insights.

It’s important to note that both stage 1 and 2 can be done post-match or live. The second option means that you can gain valuable insights into the game that can affect the strategy of the team during the game.

Stage 3. Presenting Insights

The last phase consists of sharing your video analysis conclusions with players and fellow coaches.

Nacsport makes it very easy to create professional video presentations which can be shown directly from the software, exported as a standalone video, or even uploaded to our online platform for easy sharing.

So, in a nutshell, this is what Nacsport can do. Obviously, there is much more to each stage of the process, but for the moment, this brief overview should give you a fair idea of the workflow.
