1 minute readOur latest analysts open day - IX Nacsport Network - took place last week, with almost 40 of Europe’s top basketball analysts joined by coaching staff from sports including handball and water polo, for an invite-only presentation by our founder and lead developer Alberto Rodríguez, a recap of our latest update and a few sneak peaks at what we have in store for later in the year.
14 of the 18 basketball clubs in Spain’s ACB league - considered by most experts in the game as second only to America’s NBA - are Nacsport users. And most were present, to learn about the new features we’ve been working on specifically for basketball analysis.
We’d been promoting Alberto’s address as the official unveiling of a brand new Nacsport feature and our audience seemed suitably impressed as he showcased the new LineUps calculator - a complex tool to calculate the accumulated data from each team combination used during a game.
Designed principally for sports like basketball, where players rotate throughout a game, LineUps reveals important data on how individual players perform with each other on the court for the first time - a real breakthrough for analysts that should make their lives noticeably easier and their work with Nacsport even more effective.
LineUps became the major talking point of the afternoon and following its introduction, the assembled analysts had so many questions - most notably around the potential of combining results with another recent addition, Data Patterns - that we barely had time to carry out the obligatory Q&A session and had to completely skip the traditional family portrait.
But we did collect some valuable feedback on recent additions to Nacsport and plenty of inspiration for our next update - due for release later this year.
