7 minute readIs Nacsport available on Mac? The simple answer is yes. From August, 2022, Nacsport Basic, Basic+ and Scout are available natively on Mac.
Although we expect a Mac release shortly, Nacsport Pro and Elite are still only available for Windows. However, there are workarounds to get these programs working on Mac computers.
In this article, we’ll explain how…
*Note: This blog was updated in August, 2022.
Nacsport Basic, Basic+ and Scout are now available for macOS with a workflow which is practically identical to its Windows counterpart. There are a few small differences in the tools available in each version which you can see in our side-by-side comparison.
If you need to download the Mac version of Nacsport or want to start a free 30-day trial of the software, you can do so in the Downloads area of our website. Also, please remember to check the minimum and recommended requirements first, to ensure the software will run without issues.
For more information about Nacsport on Mac, please feel free to check out this article, in which we go into more detail about the software and its compatibility with the Windows version.
Although Nacsport Pro and Elite are only currently available for Windows, there are a couple of ways in which you can install them on your Mac.
These are:
Please note: Boot Camp is not available to those running Macs with M1 chips and beyond.
If you are running MacOS 10.5 (Leopard) or above, then you already have the means necessary to install Nacsport, or indeed any Windows-only software. With BootCamp, which comes pre-installed.
This is probably the easiest and most well-known method of installing Windows programs on Mac.
BootCamp basically allows you to install an active copy of Windows on to your Apple machine and switch freely between the operating systems. Once Windows is installed, you can then install any Windows-only software you want.
This option allows you to take 100% advantage of your hardware resources since you can start a work session solely in Windows.
Just remember to keep your cloned copy of Windows updated so you don’t keep getting those annoying messages from Microsoft offering you automatic updates!

Another common method of running Nacsport Pro and Elite and other Windows-only software on Mac, is to use emulation software.
Emulators basically allow the operating system of one computer to behave like that of another. In this case, MacOS emulates Windows.
One downside to this is that both operating systems are active at the same time and, therefore, hardware performance may be lower.
There are many emulation options out there, but from our 15 years of experience, we’d like to recommend two which we believe to be particularly stable and easy to use.
Simple configuration and with an exceptionally stable and intuitive interface. Parallels has the advantage of working very well with Apple’s built-in software to run Windows: BootCamp.
Run or access Nacsport directly from your Mac or, with the latest version of Parallels, remotely. Run your Windows software with a program which uses multiple tools to replicate the behavior of Windows and ensure your Mac runs like a Microsoft machine.
In our opinion, this is another trustworthy, stable option.
Virtual Box is a free open source simulation tool from Sun Systems. Well maintained by an active development community, Virtual Box is compatible with many different operating systems, not just Windows. In addition, Gamers report a notable improvement to Mac graphics, so this is probably our favorite emulation software for Nacsport.
Although we cannot personally vouch it, we’ve also heard good things about the VMWare Fusion emulator.
We know that the world of emulation can be tricky and difficult to get your head around if you’re not an IT expert. But don’t worry, we’re here to help. If you have any questions on how to get your favorite performance analysis software running on Mac, don’t hesitate to contact our support team directly by email or through our Twitter account.
