Today, the Sharimg platform receives a new update, adding a new tool which will revolutionise the way you work online and communicate with your team.

The Team Channel has been designed as a hub around which the entire platform is organised. It’s a place where you, your colleagues and your players can come together to discuss all aspects of the game, watch relevant video clips and gain insights that will help improve overall performance.

At the same time, the Sharimg App, which can be downloaded free from the App Store and Google Play Store, also gets an update which also contains the Team Channel.

So, let’s take a closer look at this new environment…

An Introduction to the Team Channel

You’re probably already familiar with some of the world’s most popular social networks. If you’ve used Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn, for example, you’ll understand exactly how to use the Team Channel. It’s basically a wall in form and function where users can post messages and content.

You can post videos, analyses, presentations, team tracking, documents, pictures, polls or just simply messages for teammates.

Mentions, Replies, Reactions and Favorites

Having said that, the Team Channel has a few features which differentiate it from other social media apps.

The most important of these is that you must mention the user or group of users that you want to communicate with using the @ symbol. This could be an individual user (@David_Smith), a predefined group of users (@Defenders), or every registered user on the platform (@Everyone).

Only users or groups of users who are mentioned in the post will be able to see it, although account Admins will be able to see and control all the posts. All mentioned users will have access to any content that is posted alongside the message, such as videos or playlists, even if they didn’t have access before.

All mentioned users can comment on the post, which allows discussions to take place. There is no need to mention users again in comments. Everyone who was mentioned in the original post will be able to see these replies. If you want to add new users to the discussion, you can mention them in a comment and they will have access to the full thread, including the original post and content.

Users also have the ability to react to posts with emojis or add a post as a favourite so they can easily find it later.

Editing Posts

Once a message has been posted, there are a number of things you can do:

•    Edit posts. Edit the text or change the attached content. You can also remove mentions from the original message. This user will no longer be able to see the message, although they will still have access to the content that has been posted.
•    Delete posts. This can be done by either the person who originally posted the comment or by account admins. If an admin deletes a message, they must leave a comment explaining why it has been removed.
•    Search posts. Posts can be filtered by text, date, group, content, file or favourite. These criteria can also be combined for more in-depth filtering.
•    Pin a post. An admin can pin any post to the top of the channel. When another post is chosen to be pinned, the first post will be unpinned.

Create Posts from Other Areas of Sharimg

Posts which appear on the Team Channel can be created directly from various different areas of the Sharimg platform.

•    In any section of the side menu. Right click on any thumbnail (or multiple thumbnails) to reveal the Create Post option. You’ll be able to write and post your message in the window that opens.

•    In any section which includes a list of clips. From lists, presentations or team tracking, choose one or multiple clips you want to post, right click and select Create Post.

•    Create and share clips. Users can create and share their own unique clips that can be post to the Team Channel.

Lists will only be shown in the Team Channel post. This means that they will not be saved in any other area of the platform.

How to Update to Sharimg 6.0

You don’t have to do anything as the process will be carried out on our side.

There will, however, be a short interruption to the Sharimg service between 09:00 and 13:00 (GMT+1) on the 19th of April, during which time we will apply the update to the platform. You will not be able to access Sharimg during this period, so we ask for your patience and understanding during this time.

Once the process has been completed and you open the platform, you’ll see this message.

As you can see, the Team Channel will become your new default homepage on the Sharimg platform, although this can be changed in the settings menu.

The updated Sharimg App will also be available from the App Store and Play Store at some time during the morning of the 5th of April.

So, that’s the brand new Sharimg, coming your way soon. We’ve put a lot of work and thought into this update and we’re sure that it will definitely improve how you work and communicate with your team. We hope you enjoy it.

If you have any questions or comments about these new changes, we would encourage to get in contact with the Sharimg team through the website. They will be happy to answer any questions that you may have.

Again, we hope you enjoy this new service and, in the meantime…

Thanks for reading.
