Have you ever felt the need to use Nacsport on a different computer? Maybe your eyes are getting tired and you want to switch from a small laptop screen to the massive desktop monitor in the office. Maybe you’re going on a journey and want to use your travel time productively on your laptop. Maybe you simply want to share the program between a group of analysts with different computers.

So, the question then arises: Can Nacsport be used on different computers?

Well…the answer is “Yes, it can but…”.

So, let us talk you through that “but”.

Installation vs Use

First off, let’s talk about the difference between Installation and Use. The former refers to downloading the program and installing it on your computer. You can, in fact, install Nacsport on as many computers as you like. Got an office with a hundred desktops?

Go ahead! Install Nacsport on every one of ‘em if you want!

But that brings us to Use. The license that you’ve purchased from Nacsport, basically the code which allows you to open and use the software, can only be active on one machine at a time. Want to use Nacsport on a hundred computers at the same time? You’ll need to buy a hundred licenses!

But don’t worry, that doesn’t mean you’re tied down to one computer for the rest of your life!

How to Switch Between Computers

You can switch between computers in a matter of seconds. You can do this by activating and deactivating the software license, which is an easy process. But remember, you must always deactivate the license on the first computer before reactivating on the second.

The process looks like this:

Step 1: Deactivate the license on computer A.

Step 2: Activate the license on computer B.

It will be impossible to activate the license on computer B until you complete the first step.

Here’s a quick video to show exactly how to do this.

Internet Connection

Deactivating and reactivating your license is a process which, literally, takes a few seconds to complete. But be warned, especially those of you analyzing huskie dog racing events at the North Pole, you will require an internet connection to complete the process. After successfully switching computers, you will be able to disconnect from the internet without any problems.

What About My Files?

Please remember, when you save your work with Nacsport, it automatically gets saved locally. Unless otherwise specified, analyses, databases, templates, presentations and all your data will be saved to the NAC SPORT DATA folder which can be found in either My Documents or Documents depending on the version of Windows you are using.

Your work is saved to the computer’s hard-disk and does not automatically get transferred when you transfer the license. To use this data, you must copy transfer your work from one computer to the other manually.

So, there you have it…transfer your Nacsport license with ease. Hopefully this guide has answered your questions on this issue, but If you have any questions or problems on this or any other issue, feel free to get in contact with us here!
